SeauCAengage

A Committed Board

Driven by a unified vision and a rich blend of complementary expertise, our Board of Directors provides strategic guidance to Genium360 to fuel its growth and sustainability.

Why get involved with the Board?

Joining the Board of Directors means choosing to make an active contribution to the development of Genium360. The term of office is 2 years, renewable up to a maximum of 6 years. It involves attending six Board meetings a year, as well as related committee meetings.

When they join the Board, all directors receive governance training, to ensure they fully understand the organization's roles, responsibilities and challenges.

An information meeting is also held at the start of the nomination process, to explain the expectations of the role, answer questions, and provide interested parties with the tools they need.

Administrative support is offered throughout the mandate, and concrete recognition of the commitment is provided.

Genium360's Board of Directors in practice

The Board's operations are based on structured processes aimed at efficiency, transparency and rigour. An annual calendar of meetings, including committee meetings, is drawn up at the beginning of the year.

Comprehensive training is offered to new members to familiarize them with by-laws, internal policies, and governance practices. The support of the Assistant Corporate Secretary and the permanent staff enables members to focus their involvement on strategic issues.

Meeting preparation, attendance, and participation are rewarded with an attendance fee. Travel expenses are reimbursed per internal policy.

The Nomination Process

Board members are selected through a rigorous and transparent process. The nomination period, determined by our General By-Laws, is announced by a notice distributed to all Genium360 voting members (engineering graduates in Canada and members of the OIQ).

Interested parties are invited to complete an application form, which is then assessed by the Elections Committee. Files are examined based on a number of criteria, including:

  • A Genium360 member for at least 2 years at the time of application (a priority requirement)
  • Experience in governance (particularly in the engineering community, an asset)
  • Engagement in the engineering community
  • Alignment with profiles sought to strategically enrich the Board

Following this analysis, a maximum of 10 candidates will be selected to take part in the election. Interviews may be conducted to gain a better understanding of the candidates' strategic contribution.

2025 Elections

The nomination period will begin on le 1st septembre 2025. In the meantime, interested members are invited to prepare their application. Filing procedures will be communicated in due course.

Certain types of expertise are particularly in demand this year :

  • Information technology and cybersecurity
  • Public and government relations
  • Law and governance
  • Network mobilization in the engineering community

Genium360 values a diversity of perspectives. We encourage members of all ages, regions and backgrounds to consider this opportunity, in a spirit of openness, complementarity and representativeness.
