REPORTS TO: Supermétal Structures's Vice-President, Contract Administration

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE : The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing large-scale steel structure projects, while assisting Supermetal Construction Division regarding steel installation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure good communication between construction site and manufacturing operations;

• Closely monitor work in progress in order to meet contractual deadlines and complete various reports required by the client;

• Prepare project deadlines;

• In collaboration with the installation team, monitor the execution of change notifications and ensure they are incorporated into the original contract;

• Maintain close monitoring of the different sub-contractors, ensuring they respect their contractual commitments, carrying out quality work according to the rules of the art and technical specification requirements;

• Ensure a link between clients and the organization as a whole; negotiate the prices and terms of the contract and/or any changes with The Client;

• Communicate all relevant information for the projects to each department of the organization;

• Identify and put in place the means to provide financial monitoring for the projects assigned;

• Assist in the development of project procurement documents for the procurement of steel, paint and all other materials (quantity, schedule, quality) for the projects entrusted to him;

• Ensure a weekly follow-up for the following tasks:
• Assembly design;
• Preparation of detailed drawings;
• Approval of detailed drawings;
• In-house and external production;
• On-site installation.

• Prepare the monthly billing/invoices and ensure that all additional work is billed;

• Take charge of the whole project, execution and completion, according to plans and specifications, doing so in the most economical way.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• University or Collegiate degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent;
• 0 to 3 Years experience in construction management;
• Reading plans;
• Proficient in Excel, Word and MS Project;
• Good technical knowledge of the trade;
• Strong communication skills;
• Written and verbal skills in English and French would be an asset;
• Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities;
• Ability to negotiate.
